Artist's Statement — My Works, My Stories

I try to reveal the quiet drama of daily life and the essence of a place. Each of my works typically tells a story.

I work both with oils and with mixed media. The mixed media works are painted with a unique technique I developed, involving colored inks and oil pastels, which produces the extraordinarily vivid colors for which my paintings are known.

I am drawn to specific - and yet universal – observations of people and places. I would like those who view my paintings to consider the people who inhabit the works and what they are doing and thinking and feeling. And why it matters.

Artist Bio

My paintings are in collections in the US, Australia, and Europe. They have won numerous awards in many group shows. My works have been exhibited in several solo shows in New York and in Connecticut. I am frequently asked to do commissions.
